Love happened and then went kaput!

Two years later, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are parting ways.

Some say Mama Kapoor was not a happy mama when it came to Deepika and others say it is Ranbir’s closeness with stars like Shazahn Padamsee with whom he’ll be seen with in Rocket Singh : Salesman of the Year and Katrina Kaif who starred opposite him in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.

Sonam Kapoor seems to have foreseen this turn of events while the rest wondered.  Kapoor was unceremoniously ousted from Ranbir’s life when Deepika walked in.

Ash turns 36!

Aishwarya Rai turned 36 on 1st November. This Scorpion mesmerised the world ever since she won the Miss World crown. She took over Bollywood and even a small part of Hollywood. Marrying Abhishek Bachchan made her a part of the most prominent family in Bollywood.

Anurag Kashyap’s Latest!

The maverick director, Anurag Kashyap, has just started working on his latest movie, That Girl In Yellow Boots.

His girlfriend/actress/playwright, Kalki Koechlin, has worked on the story and will be acting in the movie.

The movie is supposed to be a thriller and if the director’s earlier work (think back to Dev D, Black Friday, Gulaal) is anything to go by, it is sure to thrill!

Suzanne Khan did what star wives do in their spare time-pose for magazines. Hrithik Roshan’s wife will appear in the pages of Harper’s Bazaar Nov 2009.

Suzanne married Hrithik in a spectacular ceremony soon after he hit the screens. Their marriage was rumoured to have had a run in with trouble owing to the chemistry he shared with Barbara Mori on the sets of Kites.

Actor Zayed Khan is her brother while Fardeen Khan is her cousin. Her father Sanjay Khan was a well-known actor as was his brother Feroz Khan, who passed away recently.

SRK at 44

Shahrukh Khan celebrated his 44th birthday both in private and with his fans on 2nd Nov.

The actor won over the nation with his wicked act in Baazigar and starry roles in many of Bollywood’s biggest hits.

He recently revealed that a woman visited him with a bouquet of lilies a few days before his birthday for seven years and claimed to be his wife in a previous birth. Very Om Shanthi Om!

The actor hasn’t had a lot of luck on the professional front in 2009.

He will be seen in a brief role with Sushmita Sen in Dulha Mil Gaya and then with Kajol in My Name Is Khan which will release on 12th February 2010.

Hrithik to sing in Guzaarish!

Hrithik Roshan, the-wonder-boy-who-made-it-big-overnight, is all set to exercise his vocal chords in the movie Guzaarish.

 

 

The actor, along with Aishwarya Rai, will sing in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Guzaarish.  This is not the first time for Ash who sang with Shahrukh Khan in Josh.

A reel take on jailbirds

Madhur Bhandarkar is well known for his knack for turning the real into reel – the sleaze in Chandni Bar, the glamour in Fashion, the cutthroat Corporate and now it is the turn of the prisoners in Indian jails.

The movie Jail will release on 6th Nov 2009 and stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mugdha Godse.

Parag (Neil) is living the good life with girlfriend Mansi (Mugdha Godse) but he lands up in jail though he claims to be innocent. The only man who hears him is Nawab (Manoj Bajpai).

Prison life is sheer hell, more so when you have no reason to be there and Parag has to accept it or fight it.

The movie is packed with ‘intimate’ scenes, Neil in the buff, and some hardcore dialogues which is on the censor boards’ chopping board, which usually ends up giving the movie its own special flavour.

Who’s that girl?

The name’s Shazahn Padamsee, born to be in the limelight, thanks partly to her famous parents Alyque Padamsee and Sharon Prabhakar.

She will make her debut with Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year in 2009. And at 21, it must be quite  a thrill!

She is no stranger to the cameras as she has already appeared in several commercials, like the Mc Donald’s Slap ad here -

Since his debut with Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir has mostly worked with established actresses and will be seen with a newcomer.
